A big thanks to everyone who came to see us at the Blaston Show on Sunday. The weather was glorious and a fun time was had by children and adults alike.
Congratulations to Jessica, 5, from Market Harborough who won our colouring competition and we hope that everyone enjoyed all the freebies we were handing out.
It was an amazing day with record breaking crowds and we hope you can make it again next year. For all those who missed it, please come along next time, the Blaston show never disappoints and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as we always do.
This years events event kicked off with a classic car rally and including a Let’s Talk Farming roadshow, hosted by the NFU, where celebrity farmer Johnny Ball joined in the fun by getting visitors to milk Annabelle the model cow!
John Stones, show chairman, said: “We are thrilled with how the day went and are now calculating exactly how much we have made for our chosen charities, with proceeds set to go to Riding for the Disabled Association and several other local charities.
“It was great to hear how much people enjoyed the show. Its success is a tribute to the support of so many local people, including sponsorship from many local businesses and community groups giving their time for free, helping to create such a successful day.
“We are indebted for the support we have received from Harborough Twenty 12 Lions and the Norton and Gaulby Young Famers’ Club.”
New attractions this year included flower arranging demonstrations, hen racing and a children’s class to create an insect from vegetables alongside traditional main ring displays, fair rides, rural crafts, show jumping, terrier racing, dog shows, falconry, cattle and sheep shows and lots lots more.
