A team of cyclists will be pedalling over 300 miles in April to raise awareness for the beef industry, which has lost over 100,000 beef breeding cows over the last three years (a decline of nearly 7%, and accelerating), while raising funds for R.A.B.I.
The ride, to coincide with Great British Beef Week, will be passing through our supply areas; Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire and we urge our lovely customers to cheer them on as they will be stopping at auction marts in Bakewell, Newark, Louth, Spalding, Thrapston, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray and Derby, before returning to Bakewell at around 4pm on Thursday 23 April – we’ll update you on times and dates when they become available.
R.A.B.I. is asking Great British beef fans to join in and show their support by taking to social media and tweeting beef-related images and comments throughout the week.
You can send your snaps of beef dinners or a pic of your favourite beast to @rabicharity using the hashtag #BeefItUp. You can also donate to R.A.B.I. by sending a text with RABI18 followed by the £ sign and the amount you wish to donate to 70070 (eg RABI18£5).
