Current and former members of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) will be paying tribute to the YFC movement at the second annual National Young Farmers’ Week.
Following the success of 2015’s inaugural event, the NFYFC is once again celebrating all things Young Farmers from 19th-25th September.
The official hashtag for this year’s “National Young Farmers’ Week” is #ThanksToYFC. This will give people the opportunity to give thanks to YFC for how the movement has positively impacted on their life, whether it be helping them find a career in agriculture or giving them a dynamic social life.
Clubs and counties across England and Wales are already preparing by holding events aimed at recruiting new members and reminding current members to renew their membership for the following year.
NFYFC plans to build on last year’s success by again planning a different theme each day to focus on. Each theme is based on a key area of NFYFC’s work and will be brought to life with a complimentary story about a member who has benefitted from being a member of their local YFC:
Monday – Agriculture & Rural Issues
Tuesday – Travel
Wednesday – Competitions
Thursday – Training and Development
Friday – Social and Leisure
The week will culminate with the NFYFC’s national competition finals in floral art and cookery at the Malvern Autumn Show on 24th and 25th September.
YFC will also be the subject of #Agrichat on Twitter on Thursday 22nd September from 8pm to 9:30pm.
