Description:

K982 Magnaplex is an aluminium complex grease specifically formulated for use on open gears. This product has high load carrying and adhesive characteristics, which not only allow it to be used on gears with circumferential speeds in excess of 20m/sec, but also where exceptionally high loads and slow sliding speeds are encountered. It is free of bitumen, solvents and other components, which are hazardous to health and will not clog the spray nozzle of either manual applicators or integral automatic systems.

Applications:

K982 Magnaplex is suitable for use in a wide range of heavy duty applications, including: open gears on surface mining shovels, drag lines and excavators of up to 200 cu.metre bucket size, cement plant kiln girth gears, coal crushers, ball mills, palletising mills, direct reduction furnaces in steel mills, et cetera. It can also be used on slideways, chains and wire ropes. K982 Magnaplex can operate satisfactorily at temperatures between -30°C and +180°C. It conforms to the requirements of all major open gear manufacturers worldwide.

As with all greases used for the first time, check compatibility with the grease applied previously and if necessary purge prior to application. Likewise, as a general rule, take care not to over-lubricate and apply the quantity of grease recommended by the manufacturer.
