We take the safety of our customers very seriously at Barton Petroleum and have guidelines in place to ensure that your heating oil tank is installed correctly and is safe to deliver to. This not only protects you but also ensures the welfare of the surrounding environment.
Our drivers are issued with a clear instruction in their handbook which lists approximately 20 points for safety and environmental checks for the tank and delivery area. If any of these points make execution of the delivery difficult or dangerous, then a written report is to be completed and submitted to the customer and to the depot supervisor on his return.
The driver is told in his instruction to ask himself the question – is it safe to deliver? If the answer is no then he must not do the delivery.
The majority of deliveries do meet our safety guidelines, but it is always sensible to ensure that your heating oil tank is well maintained and installed in an area that is not hazardous to your home or surrounding environment. For the safety guidelines you can download the OFTEC brochure or for advice please contact your local depot.
