Morris Lubricants, Britain’s leading family-owned, independent oil blenders and marketers, has been shortlisted for the Employer of the Year accolade in the annual Energize Awards, which recognise people that take part, work and volunteer in sport and physical activity across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
The company’s management accountant, Phil Gittins, entered Morris Lubricants for the award because he felt it deserved recognition of its tireless fundraising work and support for sport across Shropshire.
After collecting £20,000 last year with its ‘county tops’ challenge, the company is this year raising money for the Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury by completing the 214-mile Severn Way long-distance footpath in seven different ways.
The awards, organised by Energize STW in conjunction with the Shropshire Star, are an opportunity for local people and organisations to be celebrated for their passion, dedication and commitment to grass-roots sport. Winners will be announced at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium, Shrewsbury on November 7.
