The union flag launched by the NFU has proved to be successful in spreading the Back British Farming message.
Millions of people have liked, shared and commented on the iconic image across Facebook, Twitter, You Tube and Linked In.
Support was shown by celebrity chef James Martin and Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park who both shared the image. Industry support included Morrisons, Red Tractor, AGCO, Massey Ferguson and Love Pork.
The flag was created with two hundred farmers, a tractor and hundreds of red, white and blue food and drink props and together they represented every farming sector within the UK.
Farmers are passionate, proud and dedicated to provide the best quality produce for you every single day of the year. The image was created to remind the country of the vital role farmers play in producing food – as well as delivering lots of environmental and economic benefits to Britain.
NFU Vice President Adam Quinney said: “This farming flag is a fantastic way of showcasing the people who work tirelessly to deliver food and highlights the support they need from government, retailers and consumers so they can continue feeding our growing nation into the future.”
