Global Oil Market Volatility and Its Impact on Fuel Supply
05/05/2026
Recent events in the Middle East have created uncertainty in the global oil market. As a result, fuel suppliers across the industry are seeing a rise in customer enquiries. At Barton Petroleum, we have also experienced an increase in demand for information as customers look to understand how these developments may affect fuel supply and pricing.
Current Position on UK Fuel Supply
According to the United Kingdom and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association (UKIFDA), the UK Government has confirmed that there are currently no reported impacts on UK fuel supply. While global events can influence oil markets and prices, supply across the UK remains stable at this time.
How Barton Petroleum Is Responding
At Barton Petroleum, we have established procedures in place to manage periods of market uncertainty. These processes were successfully used during previous global disruptions, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Our team is also deploying additional resources across our depots to help manage the increased number of enquiries and ensure customers continue to receive the support they need.
Pricing During Market Volatility
Due to the current volatility in the oil market, it may not always be possible to confirm fuel prices far in advance. For the time being, some orders may only be priced the day before delivery. This approach helps ensure pricing reflects the most accurate market conditions at the time of supply.
Our Commitment to Customers
Despite the uncertainty in global markets, our commitment to our customers remains unchanged. Barton Petroleum continues to monitor the situation closely and will adapt where necessary to maintain reliable service.
We appreciate the continued trust our customers place in us and thank you for your ongoing support.
